On December 7, 2021, Food Brigade President Karen DeMarco was honored during the annual New Jersey Realtors® Awards ceremony at the Triple Play Realtor® Convention & Trade Expo in Atlantic City. Karen is the first recipient ever to receive the "Good Neighbor" award at the State level.
DeMarco addressed the audience about the state of food insecurity in New Jersey and the work of her nonprofit, The Food Brigade Inc., and the critical role served by food pantries and food banks in New Jersey.
